UNPRECEDENTED INCREASE IN FINANCIAL FRAUD

Over the last few weeks, Alphaeon Credit has seen an unprecedented increase in digital fraud attempts within our online application platform. These attacks were by an automated program that attempted to use fraudulent and stolen identities to open credit lines. The good news is that we were able to immediately implement digital safeguards to limit the damage and combat the fraudsters.


You can be assured that no data was vulnerable at any time and your practice’s and patients’ information was always completely secure. To continue to ensure security, we feel it is important to further fortify our platform and implement a change immediately to the way patients apply for Alphaeon Credit when they are not in your practice.


What does this mean for you and your team?

  • Patients applying at home will be redirected to a new application form that will require additional verification.
  • Tracking the status of patient applications submitted via this method will be limited until additional reporting features can be implemented.

What is not changing?

  • The ability for patients to prequalify, apply and transact in the same day regardless of where they apply from.
  • In office applications (Pre-Qual and Dashboard Apps) will still have the same application forms and status tracking capabilities. If your patient is using their own device, be sure to have them connected to your practice’s Wi-Fi.

This change will become effective at approximately 1:00 PM PDT today, Friday, June 9.


For those of you that encourage patients to apply before or after visiting your practice, we understand how the lack of application tracking will be disruptive to your daily routines. We don’t take this disruption lightly, but the safety and security of the data entrusted to us by providers, Alphaeon Credit Cardholders and your patients is our highest priority.
